6 NV students were honored at the 2026 NJATJ Japanese Language & Culture Study Award Ceremony at Princeton University. A total of 31 NJ students were recognized for dedication to Japanese language & culture, with performances and booths celebrating the occasion. #NVDpride

NVD Korean classes rang in the Lunar New Year with delicious traditional food and an exciting lesson in Sebae, the formal bow that honors elders and welcomes the new year with respect and gratitude. A great celebration of culture and community. #NVDpride

Congratulations to the Northern Valley Winter Guard for earning a finalist spot at the Winter Guard International Philadelphia Regional on Saturday, February, 21. The guard is currently ranked 14th in the world in the Independent A class. #NVpride


Northern Valley Demarest proudly hosted a spirited debate competition among local high schools, and our students shone! Several NVD debaters earned top placements, showcasing their skill, poise, and dedication. Way to represent, Norsemen!

The NVD Senior Series visited our sending middle schools to give 8th graders an authentic high school theatre experience connected to our school musical and play! A special thank you to Pablo Hernandez Ruiz, Elizabeth Maxwell, Samuel Bagon, and Elizaveta Fishbeyn for sharing their passion and experiences in theatre. Students enjoyed a lively Q&A and even received free tickets to this weekend’s performance of Fiddler on the Roof! We love building excitement and welcoming the next generation of Norsemen to the stage!

Congratulation to Ryan Shaw NVD's February Student of the month! Ryan Shaw is recognized for his outstanding character, dedication, and respect for others. He consistently demonstrates strong effort and a positive attitude toward learning. As President of the Hebrew Club, Ryan shows impressive leadership, responsibility, and pride in organizing activities and supporting his peers.


Good evening, This is Keith Johnson, Principal of Northern Valley Demarest. Due to anticipated weather conditions, Northern Valley Demarest will operate on a delayed opening schedule tomorrow, Tuesday, February 24th. Classes will begin at 9:30 AM, and all students and staff should report by 9:15 AM. Buses will pick up students approximately 60–90 minutes later than their usual morning pickup time. Please travel safely, and we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

We are so proud of our NVRHS seniors. 274 seniors from NVOT and NVD will earn the State Seal of Biliteracy this year. The Seal of Biliteracy is an award recognizing high school graduates who demonstrate high-level proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in two or more languages. Congratulations, NV students and World Language teachers!

NVD Japan Club celebrated the Lunar New Year with a festive mochi tasting! Students sampled traditional rice cakes, learned about the holiday’s cultural significance, and shared in the joy of this sweet tradition together. A fun and flavorful celebration! #NVDpride


Mrs. Lee’s Korean 2 and 3 students at NVD brought language to life through traditional Korean calligraphy. Writing a meaningful historical text gave students a deeper connection to Hangul and a powerful appreciation for Korea’s rich cultural heritage. #NVDpride

We are proud to celebrate Elizabeth as a recipient of the Bergen County Clerk’s Five Star Student Award! This honor recognizes her outstanding achievements, leadership, and commitment to her community. Elizabeth will receive an award and a certificate from the John S. Hogan Foundation. Well done, Elizabeth!

The NVD Advanced Culinary Baking and Pastry classes made Gâteau St. Honoré, named for the patron saint of baking and pastry arts. The treat is a composite of puff pastry, choux, and diplomat cream bound together with caramel and patience, An educational, and delicious, project!



Congratulations to the NV Winter Guard for their 1st pl. finish at the MAIN Hillsborough HS Competition this past Saturday. The guard scored a 59.93, over the three other guards in their division. The guard looks forward to competing at Lakeland HS this coming weekend! #NVpride
The Chinese Club’s most popular event returned with another great turnout. Students gathered after school for the All You Can Make and Eat Dumpling Event, making and sharing dumplings together while celebrating the Lunar New Year in the Culinary Room. #NVDpride
