Polar Express Day at NVD! The tots enjoyed a ride on the Polar Express to the North Pole, where they met Santa and his Elf. There were so many fun activities for them to experience, from skiing, snowman building, candy cane fishing, to watching the Polar Express movie. Thank you to Ms. Weber, Ms. Malady, Ms. Di Gerolamo, and the Teens for planning a great day for the Tots.






Students in Ms. Goebel’s Advanced Baking and Pastry course showcased exceptional creativity and technical skill during a recent in class cookie competition that delighted judges and classmates alike.
After thoughtful deliberation and many happy taste tests, top honors were awarded to two standout creations. Joslyn Hughes, Alexa Arias, Natalie Dimitriadis, and Alyssa Dimitriadis impressed the judges with their Twix sugar cookies, a bakehouse worthy combination of sugar cookie, buttercream, and mini Twix bars that stood out for both flavor and presentation.
In the afternoon competition, Aviv Mosayav, Aliza Vezquez Ramos, Sumaeyah Ortiz, and Aleyda Aquino earned top recognition with an inventive hybrid cookie featuring flan baked directly into the dough. Judges praised the entry for its originality, execution, and thoughtful flavor pairing.
The competition challenged students to design cookies that excelled in taste, visual appeal, creativity, and overall marketability. The winning entries reflected the course’s strong emphasis on precision, innovation, and real world culinary skills.

We had an unbelievable Holiday Door Decorating Contest at NVD! The creativity and effort from our students and faculty were truly incredible. We greatly appreciate our staff and students for making NVD festive, warm, and welcoming for everyone.during the holiday season. Too many amazing doors to show but here are NVD’s Top 3 doors!





Congratulations to Ralphie Baldino, NVD’s December Student of the Month! Ralphie is warm, friendly, and kind, even when no one is looking. He is a high-character, hardworking student who leads by example every day. A dedicated varsity bowler and an active participant in our Culinary Arts Career Pathway and Engineering CTE program. Ralphie truly represents the best of NVD.

Congratulations to all the Poetry Out Loud semi-finalists and a special congratulations to winner Jenna Au who will go on to compete in the state's regional competition in February.


Students in Ms. Siracusa-Hilmo's English 4 classes were treated to question and answer sessions with our own Officer Cho who provided relevant context and multiple perspectives related to their reading.

Today we say farewell to SRO Don Cho, a true cornerstone of the NVD family. Over the years, Officer Cho has been more than just an SRO he’s been a protector, mentor, and steady source of kindness for our students and staff. His dedication and compassion have made NVD safer and stronger, and his impact will be felt for years to come. Thank you, Don, for everything. You will be deeply missed, but once part of NVD, always part of NVD.

NVD extends our sincere gratitude to the PTSO and KPA for yesterday’s staff appreciation luncheon. The food was absolutely amazing, and our staff truly felt celebrated. A special thank-you to all of our food sponsors for their generosity and support!

Congratulations to Olivia Jagid on her acceptance to the Bergen County Youth Advisory Board! Olivia will play an important role in supporting the health and well-being of students and families throughout Bergen County.

Thank you to guest speakers Matt Gresia and Nate O’Brien who spoke to Mr. Santonocito’s Business and Personal Finance class on topics such as college/loans, saving and investing, and entrepreneurship.

Congrats to NVD student-athletes who participated in the Big North Sportsmanship Summit! A great initiative that focuses on leadership and sportsmanship.

Northern Valley hosted the 3rd annual AI Literacy Summit at NVOT on Monday, Dec 8th. Thank you to Dr. Cicchino for organizing the event, and to the many NV teachers and staff who facilitated sessions!





Congratulations to Rebecca Glennon, our Educational Services Professional of the Year! Rebecca is a dedicated and compassionate guidance counselor whose support makes a lasting difference for our students. Her creativity as Yearbook Advisor and her leadership with the Peer Mentors further enrich our school community. We are proud to recognize her for her outstanding commitment and well-deserved honor.

Ms. Bell has been named NVD’s Princeton University Distinguished Secondary School Teacher of the Year. Ms. Bell is an exemplary educator who provides students with authentic learning experiences in social studies. She consistently demonstrates dedication and challenges students to think critically every day.

Congratulations to Ms. Johnson, from our math department, for being recognized for the Governor Teacher of the Year award, for her passion, dedication, and strong connections with her students. Her commitment to helping students grow and succeed truly stands out.

Congratulations to NVD’s November Student of the Month, Cassie Vega! Cassie excels both in and out of the classroom and is always ready to lend a helping hand in the community. Her recent work on the Senior Series created an authentic and impactful experience for our middle school students.
