Demarest Athletics

Congratulations to the girls volleyball team on their victory over Fair Lawn. The team finishes the regular season 17–4. The team also won their first round state game over Ramsey in straight sets where  several milestones were met by our volleyball student-athletes. Taylor Miller eclipsed the 750 kill mark in her career, Isabella Villa eclipsed the 550 mark for digs in her career and Claire Song eclipse the 750 mark for assists her career.

Congratulations to the boys soccer team on their first round state playoff win over Jefferson in overtime. In the state quarterfinal game against Ramsey, Demarest hits the post and the cross bar in the last 5 minutes of regulation before falling to a very good Ramsey team that is ranked as the #3 team in the state 1-0. The Team ends the season 8-7-2 and only conceded 12 goals in 17 matches. One of the toughest schedules in North Jersey.

Congratulations to Demarest’s Brandon Srebnik on being named Super Football Conference Young man of the Year Award. A tremendous kid both in and outside the classroom.

The boys and girls cross country team finished their season off strong. The boys had a top-five finish at the Bergen County meet of champions and placed second in The North 1 Group 2 State Playoffs. The boys team captured both divisional and county championships this season. The girls team placed fourth at the State Sectional  Playoffs and both teams advanced to The Group State Championship.

Next weeks highlights, there will be an overview of the 2023 fall sports season.
