To be eligible, the student must be a graduating high school senior and the child of an active, retired or deceased Bergen County law enforcement officer, fire fighter or ambulance corps member.  This includes: FBI, DEA, ATF, NJ State Police, Palisade Interstate Commission Police, Port Authority Police, Prosecutor's Office, and Sheriff's Office who work in Bergen County.  Applicants may also qualify on their own merit, if a member of an ambulance corps, or fire auxiliary and has been an active member since before September 1, 2023.  The Affiliation Scholarship application may be found on the 200 Club website, www.200club.org  at https://200club.org/scholarship-program/

The  Aspiring Special Educator Award

This award will be given to a graduating senior who is interested in majoring in Special Education or a related service.  The student must be a participant of the Hand-in Hand Club for at least the last 2 years, and be attending a school with the intentions of majoring in the field of Special Education or a related service such as Speech, Occupational, Behavioral Therapy, School Psychology, Social Work, etc.
An essay will be required.  The essay should be one page double spaced, and should include why you are choosing this field of study.  Please put your name on the top of the essay along with your Student ID and email your essay to

New Jersey Relocation Scholarship Program

Whatever the impact, we know that each student has a very special relocation story, unique to their own experiences … stories that we feel need to be told! NJRC will award two (2) one thousand dollar ($1,000) scholarships to college-bound high school seniors who have relocated into one of the aforementioned New Jersey counties. Students should have moved between 9 th grade (after completion of 8th grade) and 12th grade, and moved a distance of at least 50 miles to a new school and location. The scholarship award will be sent directly to the college that the student will be attending to assist with tuition or books/supplies. We must receive all completed applications (inclusive of application, transcripts, essays, consent form, photo, and extra-curricular activities list) by February 29, 2024, by 4pm.  Any young woman who is a senior in a NJ high school and is a resident is invited to apply.  She should be planning to complete a professional  program (minimum baccalaureate) leading to a degree and certification in the field of education.  The Jeannette Hodge, Mary Ann Giovannini, Patricia Barber and Johanna Capasso memorial scholarships, each in the amount of $500 and two educational awards, also in the amount of $500, will be awarded for academic achievement. The first is our traditional Essay Scholarship Award featuring 6 named scholarships ranging from $3,000 to $500, and the second is a creative artistic endeavor dedicated to the Spirit of Corky Lee in the amount of $1,500. The application and letter of recommendation requirement is the same for both awards; however, the submission and judging criteria is different.

Please note that these scholarships are available to all college bound high school seniors of Asian American descent who are full time residents of the state of New Jersey. We encourage all eligible students to apply, especially those with greatest financial need. Parental consent, a letter of recommendation, and an official copy of high school transcripts is required. Closter Lions Edward T. Rogan Scholarship Fund

The Closter Lions Club is offering a $1000 scholarship in memory of Edward T. Rogan who was a lifelong resident of Closter.  He held positions as Closter Borough Attorney, Councilman and was one of Bergen County's youngest mayors.  Edward Rogan was Closter Lion's Club president as well as a lector and Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary's church.   This scholarship will be awarded to a student that best combines academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community and social service.  Special consideration will be given to students pursuing a Political Science Major and intend to apply to law school.
